About SUSTERA

SUSTERA is a nine-year-old non-profit working at the intersection of climate, sustainability, and community resilience, headquartered in Kerala. Our work spans:

• Circular economy programmes in Amballoor panchayat, Ernakulam
• Marine litter interventions along the Trivandrum coast
• Climate Leadership cohorts for youth and women
• Coastal livelihood pilots for women's empowerment and disaster preparedness

Over the next few years, we are expanding our footprint across the coastal belt of Kerala to meet a significant unmet need in the communities we serve, and growing our team in these locations.

Our impact so far

Over nine years, SUSTERA has:

• Reached 15,000+ community members across Kerala
• Trained 700+ women and youth through our climate/resilience related Leadership Programmes
• Directly engaged 6 LSGDs across Ernakulam and Trivandrum
• Delivered over 55 projects and campaigns in association with various community organzations across India.

Why this role exists

We are looking for a Director of Programs to take charge of strategy and operations across our portfolio — leading the team, driving projects forward with clarity, keeping reporting strong, and ensuring excellence across delivery.
